David Jones OBE
Novus Cambria Director
David Jones became Chief Executive of Coleg Cambria in 2013. His current external appointments include chairing the Deeside Enterprise Zone Board, membership of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Wales Council, the Landex (Land Based Colleges Aspiring to Excellence) Board and the Colleges Wales Board. He is also a member of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board and Business Council.
Peter Cox
Novus Cambria Director
Peter joined The Manchester College in 1994 and has held several senior positions within the organisation. With a background in business development and over 20 years’ experience in the sector, Peter previously held the position of Vice Principal of offender learning and was promoted to Director of Commercial Development in 2013. In his current position as Managing Director of Novus he launched the new Novus organisation in 2016.
Sue Murphy CBE
Novus Cambria Director
Sue is Deputy Leader of Manchester City Council and councillor for Brooklands in Wythenshawe. She became Chair of The Manchester College’s Board of Governors in 2008 and Chair of LTE group and Novus in 2016. Sue brings extensive experience across key areas: the regional skills sector, public sector reform and the devolution agenda. Sue was made a CBE in the New Year’s Honours 2016 for her political and public service.
John Clutton
Novus Cambria Director
John is the chair of one of the Coleg Cambria Board's committee, namely the Leadership, Performance and Improvement Committee, and is also a member of the HR, Finance and Estates Committee. He is the Link Governor for leadership at the College.
John Thornhill
Novus Cambria Director
John has extensive experience in the private sector, including managing at Chief Executive level. Prior to becoming Chief Executive of the Group, John worked at BT for 24 years in a variety of roles. For the last two years, John has been very active in the education sector in the North West and nationally and was previously a non-exec board member of Manchester Metropolitan University. John’s role encompasses all of the organisations within the Group including Novus, The Manchester College, MOL and Total People Ltd.
Steve Jackson
Novus Cambria Director
Steve has worked at Coleg Cambria, formerly Deeside College, since 1994. A key part of his role as Chief Operating Officer & Deputy Chief Executive for Coleg Cambria is the development of the College’s estate and recent projects include the new Sixth Form Hub at Deeside and the University Centre.
Malcolm Sugden
Novus Cambria Director
Malcolm is a chartered management accountant. He has operated at a senior financial level within major North West businesses, including United Utilities and as Finance Director for Electricity North West. He is currently Deputy Chair of Stockport NHS Foundations Trust and a director of Electricity North West (ESPS) Pension Trustees Ltd. In addition, he has considerable experience as a governor in both the primary school and sixth form college sectors.

Mairi-Anne has over 20 years' experience working in a custodial environment.

Project Manager
Victoria joined Novus in April 2014 with over 15 years project and bid management experience. Her previous roles included leading and managing large scale projects for defence sector clients and charities. She has also led international programmes involving multidisciplinary teams within the legal, rail and construction industries. During her time with Novus, Victoria has worked in a project management capacity on various custody projects in the male, female and young people’s estate.
Jo Tincello
Project Mobilisation Manager
Jo has worked for Coleg Cambria for 9 years in various management roles. She brings a wealth of project management experience aimed at enhancing the curriculum offer for school and college learners, as well as managing the college's Traineeship Programme designed to support disengaged learners into education and employment.
Mairi-Anne McLeod
Project Mobilisation Manager
Mairi-Anne has over 20 years' experience working in a custodial environment. She has worked as the head of several education departments within prison settings and is passionate about the impact quality education has on the lives of those in custody. Mairi-Anne is committed to ensuring the education offer supports the rehabilitation of men and that every opportunity to enhance learning is embedded throughout the prison.
