Novus, part of LTE group, is the UK leader and innovator in offender education, skills and employability interventions that reduce reoffending and divert people from criminal behaviour, allowing them to make a positive contribution to society.
A not-for-profit, large-scale social enterprise with almost 25 years’ experience in offender learning, Novus delivers education, training and employability in more than 60 sites within prisons, the Young People estate and the community. Novus also delivers key aspects of the Government’s Transforming Rehabilitation reforms. We work with the Ministry of Justice, National Offender Management Service, the Youth Justice Board, and a wide variety of partner organisations, to raise the aspirations of offenders to increase employability and reduce the reoffending rate.
We have a 90% success rate for offender learning courses, educating more than 65,000 offenders annually. Latest inspections by HMIP and Ofsted of Novus’ provision in prisons graded 80% ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ – the reversal of the national figure of 55%.
Novus delivers education in four of the six UK prisons which have ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grades.
We take pride in our 25-year record in reducing reoffending and helping learners on the path to employment and a crime-free life.
